But that’s why we’re here! We make the process as clear, easy and enjoyable as possible. With that in mind, here are the answers to some frequently asked questions about bathroom and kitchen renovations.
Question: How Long Will My Bathroom or Kitchen Renovation Project Take?
Answer: The bigger and more complex the kitchen and bathroom renovation project, the longer it will take. That said; most of our projects are completed within a 2-3 week period. Sometimes, glass products can take a little longer to source and install (splashbacks, shower screens and mirrors) due to the toughening process. Even so, glass is normally installed within 2 weeks of measuring up.
Question: Who Arranges All the Sub-Contractors?
Answer: As a specialist renovation company, we allocate a dedicated site manager to every one of our kitchen and bathroom projects. It’s their job to coordinate everything from start to finish.
Wherever you live in Perth, our site manager will be on site every day, updating you on progress and what will be happening in the coming days. All questions can be directed to your site manager who will endeavour to clear up any queries.

Question: How Much Will the Bathroom or Kitchen Renovation Cost?
Answer: Every kitchen and bathroom renovation project is different and there are a lot of variables that impact on the total cost: the materials and surfaces you select, the height of tiling, tapware selections, plumbing, electrical, lighting, surface area, benchtops, splashbacks, shower screens… the list goes on.
Consequently, it’s impossible to provide ballpark figures.
However, we can tell you that we try to make every project a win/win. We understand that your budget is very important and we always strive to provide the best kitchen or bathroom for your budget. If the budget isn’t realistic, then we reassess and try to come up with a figure that is manageable for you.

Question: Are Contractors Licensed and Insured?
Answer: Not every kitchen and bathroom renovation company in Perth is happy answering this question. We are.
At Salt, we pride ourselves on our quality sub-contractors and their attention to detail. We ensure all sub-contractors have the relevant licences and insurance.
We also have an internal Procedures & Specification Guide that all of our tradespeople must read and sign. This ensures that they maintain our high standards, all day, every day.
Question: What is Included in the Proposal?
Answer: Every proposal we create is different. What makes us so unique is that we take a holistic approach to all our projects. We can include everything required to complete the project, including design, demolition, appliances, fixtures and fittings, tiles, tiling, cabinetry, benchtops, splashbacks, shower screens and mirrors, plumbing, electrical, plastering, ceiling and cornice repairs, waterproofing, carpet repairs, door installation, glass blocks, windows etc. Our aim is to take the hassle out of renovating.
Question: Do You Provide a Guarantee?
Answer: Yes! As a reputable kitchen and bathroom renovation company, we provide a five-year guarantee on all labour, while all products provided by other parties will come with the manufacturer’s warranty.
Question: Will We Have to Move out of Our Home?
Answer: The majority of our clients continue to live in at home while renovations are being carried out, especially when there are two bathrooms on the property. If you’re planning on renovating all bathrooms, we can provide a portable ensuite for the duration of the project.
Question: Do You Provide Advice on Colours and Materials?
Answer: Our kitchen designers and bathroom designers can arrange a selection meeting with our in-house colour consultant who will help you choose colour schemes to suit your home. We can also advise you on your selection of tapware, fixtures and fittings and even appliances.
Question: What is the Payment Structure?
Answer: We are a member of the Housing Institute of Australia, so we follow their guidelines for progress payments. Our payments are due on substantial completion of the following stages:
- Deposit 6%
- Demolition 35%
- Cabinetry install 25%
- Benchtop/tiling install 25%
- Completion 9%
Question: Will You Provide Plans for Our Renovation Project?
Answer: Our holistic kitchen and bathroom design and installation services include CAD drawings. Every drawing contains a floor plan, various elevations, plumbing and electrical plans, and 3D views. You will be able to visualise exactly what your new kitchen or bathroom will look like.
